In the land of British Accents

My school's association for international students, Cultures Co. organized a trip to London for the weekend of March 4th-6th. We left on the Friday night at 10pm and bused to London where we arrived at about 6am. We checked into our not so nice hostel where our  metro stop was not working that weekend so we ended up having to take substitute buses to the city center. Becky, Stef and I went to the hostel, freshened up from our lack of sleep on the bus and then headed out to explore! We stopped for some starbucks and went to a little cafe where we ordered the class english breakfast (eggs, sausages, beans, fries, toast, marmalade, etc etc)..and guess what song came on as we were eating? The spice girls! How perfect. There also happened to be computers we could use so guess what we did? Booked a 6 euro flight to Barcelona for April. Why not? We then headed to House of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and the London Eye, Tower of London (where we grabbed some fish & chips) and Tower Bridge. We then went shopping along Oxford Street and then headed back to the hostel where we met some girls from the US studying in Italy so we went out and grabbed a drink with them:

Day 2 in London, we woke up and headed off to find Hogwarts! Aka Platform 9 and 3/4 at King's Cross Station. Jealous? You should be.

We then headed to Camden Market where we spent some time wandering through the narrow outdoor markets and grabbed some Chinese food to refuel. Then we went to have tea with the Queen! (well we wish). Buckingham Palace was bee-oo-tiful. I wish I lived there - too bad Prince William is taken. We then walked through a cute little park and ended up at Harrods where we roamed around for a bit and then rushed back to  our hostel to catch the bus back to France (Stef bought a pillow that she had to carry around for most of the day, so picture us racing through the streets of London trying to catch our bus with pillows..OH and did I forget to mention that we bought sunglasses with the frames painted with the colors of the English flag? oh yea, not tourists at all.)

Do you see the queen looking out the window??

Pillow and sunglasses

anyone?
